When the child Jesus
was born in Bethlehem, a throng of angels gathered in the heavens singing of
the blessed news of the birth of mankind’s Savior.
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” –Luke 2:14
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” –Luke 2:14
This good news has been
celebrated since then and man has not enervated yet of remembering the hope
that he has.
The hope in the
celebration lies in the CHRIST of the Christmas season. It may well be
remembered that because of man’s inability to save himself from eternal
damnation, God the Father deemed it necessary to send his Begotten, to live
just like one of us and suffer and experience the sting of death in order to
breathe life to his beloved creation.
Whatever happened to
our celebration of the season calls for a deeper reflection. We have made
Christmas too commercial and its essence has been overshadowed by our busyness
of preparing gifts and engaging ourselves in parties divorced from what it
actually meant in the first place.
May we altogether
return to the celebration of the angels when Christ was born, and forget not
that Christmas is all about Christ. Let us all pause for a moment and thank the
Holy Trinity for a gift undeserved and love unfathomed.
Merry Christmas
everyone! Cheers from your Brother Blogger!
